Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using NRI Tools.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of NRI Tools ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these terms. Use of NRI Tools is restricted to individuals at least 18 years of age. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Dharv Technologies LLP, a limited liability partnership incorporated in India ("Company", "we", "us", "our"). These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the Company.

2. Description of Service

NRI Tools is a web-based platform that provides informational tools and calculators for Indian nationals living abroad (NRIs, OCIs, and PIOs). This includes but not limited to:

  • Currency exchange rate tracking and remittance comparisons
  • Document expiry tracking (passport, OCI, visa)
  • Salary and tax calculators for multiple countries
  • Indian banking guides (NRE/NRO/FCNR accounts)
  • DTAA (Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement) reference tools
  • Property ROI and EMI calculators
  • Embassy contacts and consular service guides
  • Community Q&A forum
  • Flight search links to third-party booking platforms
  • Insurance and education information guides

We reserve the right to add, modify, or remove features at any time without prior notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

4. Your Account

To access most features you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
  • Keep your password confidential and not share it with others.
  • Notify us immediately at support@nritools.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are inactive for more than 24 months.

5. Free and Pro Plans

5.1 Free Plan

The Free plan gives you access to all tools with certain limits (e.g. up to 3 documents, 1 rate alert). The Free plan is provided at no charge and we may change its limits at any time.

5.2 Pro Plan

The Pro plan is a paid subscription that unlocks higher limits and additional features (unlimited documents, unlimited rate alerts, email reminders, repatriation tracker).

  • Pricing: ₹749/month (Indian users, inclusive of 18% GST) or €9/month (international users). Annual plans available at a discount.
  • Billing: Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Razorpay (India) or Stripe (international).
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Access continues until the end of the paid billing period; no refunds are issued for partial periods.
  • Refunds: Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
  • Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new price.

5.3 GST & Invoicing

Indian users are charged GST at 18% on top of the subscription price as required by Indian GST law. A GST-compliant invoice is issued within 30 days of each payment. International users are invoiced with zero-rated GST (export of services under the IGST Act).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or any code designed to harm or compromise the Service.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without our written permission.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Post content in the Community forum that is defamatory, abusive, threatening, obscene, or infringes third-party rights.
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited commercial communications (spam).
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

7. Disclaimer — Not Professional Advice

All content on NRI Tools is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, tax, legal, or investment advice.

The calculators, guides, DTAA tables, salary estimates, property projections, flight links, and embassy information are provided as general references. Tax laws, exchange rates, banking regulations, visa rules, and other information change frequently and may vary based on your individual circumstances.

Before making any financial, tax, or legal decision, you should consult a qualified professional — such as a Chartered Accountant (CA), tax advisor, or lawyer — who is familiar with both Indian law and the laws of your country of residence.

We make no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or suitability of any information on the Service. Use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, design, text, graphics, and other content on the Service (excluding content you submit) are owned by or licensed to Dharv Technologies LLP. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and process the content you submit (documents, posts, feedback) solely to provide the Service to you.

Community posts are publicly visible. By posting, you grant other users a licence to read your content. You retain ownership of content you create.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service contains links to third-party websites and services (e.g. Google Flights, Skyscanner, Momondo, Kayak, embassy websites, bank websites). These links are provided for convenience only.

We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content, privacy practices, or terms of third-party services. Clicking such links is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Dharv Technologies LLP and its partners, directors, and employees shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill.
  • Financial losses arising from reliance on information provided by the Service.
  • Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the Service.
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data by third parties.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹500 (whichever is greater).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dharv Technologies LLP and its affiliates from any claims, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@nritools.com. We will permanently delete your account and personal data within 30 days (excluding data we are legally required to retain).

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (India), with the seat of arbitration in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief from a competent court.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also have the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your country of habitual residence.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you do not accept the new Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.

15. General Provisions

  • Entire agreement: These Terms (together with our Privacy Policy) constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure: We are not liable for failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (e.g. natural disasters, internet outages, government actions).
